South Carolina Real Estate

South Carolina Real Estate

South Carolina may not be known for towering skyscrapers like those of New York or Massachusetts or the glitz and glamour of California and Florida but it sure is a good place to have a place stay – a piece of real estate that is.

One of the advantages perhaps of buying a house in South Carolina is the cost. It is not as pricey as the better known states of the Union but nevertheless the State government offers the same basic services such as education, health care and old-age pensions.

Life in the Palmetto state is more slow-paced with a unique touch of a southern charm. Old colonial buildings and houses are still present and are relatively well kept even in modern cities such as Charleston. Provost Dungeon down in Broad Street became the dwelling place of three of the signers of America’s Declaration of Independence. Thus, living in South Carolina is somewhat a step back in time making it a very unique experience on its own.

South Carolina Real Estate Information

The cities and even more so, the towns of South Carolina do not have the urban chaos that you might want to escape from. In fact, the state capital, Columbia has a population of roughly 120,000 people. Charleston, on the other hand, has only 100,000 inhabitants. The state as a whole has about 4.5 million people with a population density of 53 per km² making it one of the most sparsely populated states in the US.

You can also enjoy warmer weather in South Carolina compared to other states up north. A few hours drive from your home in the city and you get to see Myrtle and North Myrtle Beaches along the state’s Atlantic coast. Buying a real estate there as a holiday destination is also well worth your hard earned money.
