The state of Hawaii espouses the motto Ua Mau Ke Ea O Ka Aina I Ka Pono, which literally means that “The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness”. And nothing is more true in Hawaii. It also has numerous tropical rainforests, waterfalls, and rolling grasslands. Since the island occupies a land area which is almost wholly volcanic in origin, it makes for very interesting and varied topographies.

Diversity is not only exemplified in its interesting landscape and land formations. It is the only state in the United States where the majority of the people belong to the minority groups. There are very little racial discrimination, although not entirely absent. The state’s residents live in a community that uniquely harmonizes the fusion of so many races, religions, languages, and cultures. In fact, the trend in the last few decades indicate that most of those responsible for the growth of Hawaii’s real estate market growth come from foreign descent. What is interesting to know is that most of the residents of the Hawaiin Island do not usually call themselves Hawaiians. They reserve this term for fellow citizens who have the original Hawaiian ancestry, those whose roots date back to the first Polynesians who inhabited the island.

Although it is the 4th smallest state, with a total area of 28, 311 square kilometers, tourists from all around the world come to Hawaii to find rest, relaxation, and inner peace. Some even enjoy the island so much that one visit alone is not enough. A good number of tourists from all over decide to purchase real estate in hawaii, either for yearly vacation purposes or for retirement purposes. The constantly warm weather and the golden sunshine has been a huge factor in the growth of the state’s real estate market in the recent years. Hawaii is said to earn approximately $12.5 billion yearly from tourism alone.
