The county itself is experiencing an unprecedented increase in real estate.  As real estate prices continue to increase in the Bay Area, many commuters have begun to move to Stanislaus County.  Many of its communities are undergoing massive developments to accommodate the influx of relocators.  Coupled with its comfortable driving distance from San Francisco and the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains, Stanislaus County will definitely experience population growth in no time

Stanislaus California Information

Located in the Central Valley of California, between Stockton and Fresno, Stanislaus County was formed from the parts of Tuolumne County in 1854.  It was named after Estanislao – a mission-educated renegade Native American tribal chief.  The county has a total land area of 1,494 square miles and a population of 505,505 as of 2005.  It is bounded by the counties of Santa Clara in the southwest, San Joaquin in the northwest, Calaveras in the north, Tuolumne in the northeast, and Merced in the south.  The county seat is in the City of Modesto.

Currently, agriculture remains the county’s number one industry.  Of the nation’s counties, it is the number 1 producer of peaches, 6th in the production of tomatoes, and 8th in poultry.  It is the 4th fastest growing county in California (10.1% population increase as of last year) after Placer, Riverside, and San Joaquin.  In the last 3 decades, its population grew by 129.8%.  It has also seen a 3.3% increase in employment.  With more and more favorable factors gained by Stanislaus County in recent years, it comes as no surprise that its real estate is bought almost as fast as it is being developed.

Stanislaus County is the home of the Oakdale Rodeo, which is on the PRCA Tour of Rodeos.  It is also the location of Hershey’s Western Plant, one of the two Hershey’s Chocolate Factories outside of Hershey, Pennsylvania (the other one is in Smith’s Falls, Ontario, Canada).  The county’s tourism was also boosted by the creation of the Sierra Railroad Dining Train in 1999.  It offers its guests fine dining while traveling through unspoiled countryside in luxuriously restored rail cars.  There are different themes presented by the dining train and guests could readily choose among the several options that would suit their taste.

Stanislaus County is also a bastion of outstanding recreational opportunities.  The Woodward and Modesto Reservoirs are man-made lakes that provide a wide array of activities, which include picnicking, sail and power boating, water skiing, jet skiing, fishing, and swimming.  Its beach area and RV hook-up campsites also provide different amenities for everyone’s enjoyment.  Other activities that could be enjoyed in the county are hiking, cycling, rafting, shopping, cultural events, music, agricultural festivals, antiques galore, plays, and sporting events.

Stanislaus County provides a vast opportunity for everyone while maintaining a sense of what an American community should be.

Stanislaus Real Estate

The county seat is an agriculture-based city with a fast growing real estate due to its proximity to Sacramento, San Francisco, and San Jose.  It thrives mainly on food processing and a rapidly expanding service industry.
